I did a special piece for this amazing show and I won't post any pics till after the show is over! There's a secret surprise to it that I would rather everyone see in person! This is going to be a great event with awesome music and amazing art! And all proceeds from the door and bar go to an organization that works to bring back music and art that has been cut from our local public schools. These are the same folks who put up the amazing Unnatural Disaster show I a few months back. As I did with that show, I decided to make something specially for this show and will donate all sale $ to the cause. So please come and show your support!
Also showing great art are our very own IPM artist, Treiops Treyfid, Cig Neutron, and Chadwick Reinheardt!
I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post recaps of our last few events. I'll be be doing that in a week, but for now I need to tell you guys about my upcoming show. I've been working non-stop on creating a miniature city made of clock and watch parts! The city buildings will have lights and the main city will be motorized! Watchbot City will be showcased in the main room at the hive gallery's Annual Master Blaster all Sculpture show! I'm so honored to be part of the line-up along with Stephen Chiodo of the famous Chiodo Brothers Studio, Heather Henson (Jim Henson's daugher), and Ink Pen Mutation's very own Cig Neutron!!! This is an event you won't want to miss. As usual I'll be wearing an incredibly insane but amazing costume!
Fan Vixens and Ink Pen Mutations Press will have a "Bizarro Au Go-Go" book signing Sat. Sept. 24th at 7pm. This event will be held at the enchanting Dark Delicacies in Burbank and will feature tons of sexy models, totally rad sculptures, and of course the piece the resistance—the freakin’ book! =D So come and buy a copy and get it signed!

With the sultry and sexy Kalamity Jand me being painted live in graffiti art by the amazingly talented KASL, it’s not a surprise that our last hive launch party was a complete success! We gave away free awesome ball caps with art from “Sick” and dope ass t-shirts with art from “Van Wyck 3and the Clan of the Sour Hand”. People loved the new books and enjoyed the visual candy of painted ladies! Ooh la la! But even better, Chadwick and Kasl showcased their own personal art along with the illustrations from their books and it blew everyone’s mind away! Cobb did an intimate reading from Van Wyck in our space and as usual his charm had the gals in a swoon! It was a night to remember and we want to thank all of our Ink Pen Mutations Fans for coming to our last Hive Launch Party and visiting our last moments having the green furry room all to our selves. It’s been a magical 3 years and we hope that the Hive and all of its patrons will never forget all our zany installations.
So now you all know. Since I’m concentrating most of my Ink Pen Mutations business on electronic products there’s no need for me to keep such a large space as a vessel to sell and promote my paper books. But over the years I’ve grown quite fond of the Hive family and was truly torn about leaving. So I decided to remain part of the Hive and share a small space there instead of keeping my large space. So the famous former Ink Pen Mutations green furry back room is still there but it has been cut in half. One half has been turned into personal workspace to be rented by an artist (not for showcasing art). The other half is split between the amazing Chadwick Reinhardt, dreamy Alina Mikos, the ever so mystifying Scott Griffin, and me. So instead of showcasing Ink Pen Mutations Press, I will be showcasing my own personal artwork. So please come by, check out our stuff and come say hello. Our next show is October 2nd 8pm-midnight. It’s haunted house themed so you’re not going to want to miss it!
The Comic Con this year was a madhouse! We stepped it up from last year and wore the craziest costumes ever! We gave away these incredible grab bags that had all kinds of strange but enticing goodies from fake mustaches, rubber gorillas in hooker make-up, a fancy little bottle of galaxy funk, cool books, t-shirts, and more. People were going wild for them and with good reason! Everyone knows by now that Ink Pen Mutations Press and Fan Vixens know how to do it right! Playboy model Laya Bella wore matching outfits with Rannie Rodil to create a media frenzy at our booth every day we were there! I wore my crazy monster boots revamped by the artist TrieopsTreyfid and I also wore the platforms that make me 7 feet tall when I dressed as an alien warrior called the Slagitron from the book "Bizarro Au Go-Go". "Bizarro Au Go-Go" sold like hot cakes! In fact all our books sold very well, thanks to all who came to support us.To see videos go to our video section atwww.inkpenmutations.com
Did someone say Chiodo Brother’s Studio? HELL YEAH, I did! It was a dream come true being able to visit the Chiodo Brother’s studio and chill out with Stephen Chiodo who gave us all a tour and talked extensively about past and present projects. He is the coolest guy on this planet, not only talented but super duper fun to talk to! Not many people in Hollywood can make this claim, these guys are rare jewels in this business. I don’t want to prematurely spill the beans about some upcoming secret projects I’ll be involved in this coming spring, but I will say that this visit to the fantastical Chiodo Brother’s Studio won’t be my last. Hint hint. If you’re curious, keep checking on here and you’ll find out soon enough!

At last months art walk we continued to Zombie Rock band Launch Party and Circus Freak Show! Thanks to all who made it out to show support and who purchased our books! I made a costumed for myself that I decided to call the Silver Song. I took an old beat-up wig and completely re-designed it. I wore platforms that made me almost 7 feet tall with a long striped skirt that gave a great optical illusion that I might actually be that tall! I walked around freaking people out all night. I sang a few arias during Season’s Trophallaxis (variety show). It was a blast.
Check our interview with the Illustrator of “Zombie Rock Band Must be Destroyed,” Ken Dougherty.

Unnatural Disaster Show Photos and Recap!
It was a crazy night. There was some incredible artwork and awesome bands. But organizing everything was so hectic the organizers fell a bit behind on setting up. I was asked to come early to get my special fx make-up done. But everyone was running around and so I didn't get into make-up until the event already started letting people in. That normally wouldn't be a big deal, except my performance was with the first band (Clevis) and they began to play just as I was getting my make-up done! Suddenly I heard the song play that I was suppose to be onstage dancing to! I almost had a panic attack! But it was all a misunderstanding and they had a solution. After the next band Clevis would go back on to do a one song encore and replay the song I was suppose to perform in and do a different more intricate version of the song. I was happy and relieved except now I had to wait in heavy layers of clothes, in 6 inch spiked boots and with thick special fx make-up on my face under a mask that I could not reveal before my performance and I had to wait like that for 30 min or longer. I was getting hot, uncomfortable, and exhausted before even doing my dance. but in the end, I think it all came together and was worth it!
you can check out my performance here: And don't forget that this dance was improv! To view images of the night go to www.facebook.com/beautifulaverose and check out the unnatural disaster album.
