Last Trip, Comic Con. Next Trip, Watch Bot City

Well, as you may have guessed--or witnessed if you were there--Comic Con with Ink Pen Mutations was a blast, once again.

Tons of new goodies, among them being the final additions to the now complete Van Wyck Series--a hard-boiled post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, as told in five parts. Author Chris Cobb talks about it at Comic Con.

And as always, Mother tries to look picture perfect at Comic Con:

But let's not focus on the past. The future is always upon us. And since we're on the subject of time, it is good to note that every minute is under the close watch of the inhabitants of Watch Bot City, and Mother Ave Rose, their  maker. Would you like to meet their maker? Come to La Luz de Jesus!

Mother has been hard at work, putting together the newest addition to Watchbot World. Watchbot City 2. The opening is on August 3rd, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The watchbot goods will remain  there until September 2nd. Again, that's at 4633 Hollywood Blvd. LA, CA  90027.

Come meet the watchbots.
And see the land where they work and live!

The Circus is Still in Town this Artwalk

So perhaps you missed The Hive Gallery Circus Circus opening this past Saturday on June 2nd. All is not lost, my friends, because the circus is still in town! This coming artwalk is on Thursday, June 2, 2012.  As always the Hive Gallery is at:

729 S. Spring Street
Downtown Los Angeles, Ca 90014
Hours from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

And as always, the way you like it, entrance is totally free!

This past Saturday, I took my clowning quite seriously:
but my next costume is sure to be new and improved!

And let's not forget the artwork at the artwalk either:

I created a collection of jewelry not only with this show in mind, but with the mission of funding my daughter's sweet sixteen. Come pick up a piece! I made the prices into a real steal of a deal for you!

And let's not forget this month's special guest artist,
Come see what the circus freaks have in store this time
and support a special birthday girl's smile.

This Saturday at the Hive Will Be a Complete Circus!

Step right up ladies and gents! Because this Saturday's shows will be one not to miss.

Gather 'round boys and gals, the circus is in town again at the Hive Gallery, as this Saturday will feature the amazing return of the Hive Gallery's much adored Circus Circus theme.

Break out your stilts and clown shoes. Drape your favorite bearded lady from your arm!

Come one, come all this Saturday, June 2
at 729 South Spring Street
in Downtown Los Angeles 90014

Showtime is from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Come as you are for $8 at the door.
Or be better than a normy! Come in your best sideshow circus chic for $5

Watch us get our freak show on as we outdo our last year's costumes!

Watch me get my watchbot on as I display my watchbot circus-themed piece in the main room.

And that's not all folks. Because  Bizarro au Go-go has a special treat for us all in the main room!

But there is more! I'll have two more large watchbot pieces on display in the backroom and a fine selection of discounted steampunk jewelry. You can walk away knowing that all proceeds raised for my art at this show will go to the funding of my daughter's sweet sixteen birthday! =)

This is certainly no time to be sitting down on the job. Even if these watchbots seem to be sitting down for this picture! Maybe they're just resting up before swinging with ease from the flying trapeze...

And last, but never least, we will also be featuring the awesome art work of the lovely Meirav Haber.

And that's not all! After the Hive Festivities, Mother and her insane circus posse will be heading towards Perish's Goddess & Warriors after-party to dance till the break of dawn! You can check out the info here!
