| A new venture in bulb pendants created specifically for Whimsic Alley |
Aside from being your one-stop shop for wands, widgets and wearable art, Whimsic Alley is located in the heart of the Los Angeles Museum Row. Make a memorable memorial day with a weekend of art! (LACMA has a 19th-century compass exhibit, not to mention free jazz.)
Also this weekend, minutes from Whimsic Alley, once the shops shut down and the wizards wind up their wands for the night, join Ave Rose doing an opening opera performance at the culture-clashing, charity-supporting, combat sport known as LA Chessboxing.
"Chessboxing is a new sport in which one three-minute round of chess is followed by one three-minute round of boxing and then back to the same chess game against the same opponent. Whoever wins by either checkmate or in the ring first WINS! All events are dedicated to supporting charities and helping people who learn to chessbox become superheroes in their communities by fighting for philanthropy."

Glad to see stuff being done for a cause. In the past, to become the news, you had to have a murder weapon. The world is changing.
